Indian Blanket

 The Sooner State is famous for its Indian territories, and got its name in 1892 as a manic free-for-all of land was claimed by the White settlers from newly released Indian lands. In between Texas to the south and Kansas to the north, Oklahoma is an oil rich state with a rich western history. The state claims a large Indian population and many towns have museums devoted to the Native American culture.

Its two largest cities, Tulsa and Oklahoma City, have much to offer. Tulsa in its heyday was a wealthy oil town in the 1930s and its downtown is full of Art Deco architecture. Its most famous landmark is the Depot Train Station. Oklahoma City is host to the Oklahoma National Stockyards, the National Cowboy Museum and Heritage Center and the Crystal Bridge. Here in a glass tube, one can walk and observe the exotic flowers within the city park.  Oklahoma is rich in cowboy culture and is the home of two Big Twelve universities, Oklahoma in Norman and Oklahoma State in Stillwater.
