New Hampshire

State Flower

The Granite state is one of the gems of the six New England states. Most of the population is concentrated in the southern part of the state, cities Manchester and capital Concord.  Old and very quaint cities they use to be textile centers of the Northeast. Heading north is where the beautiful White Mountains show all their splendor. Nestled in between are many lakes, rivers and small towns with quaint galleries and restaurants.

Many do not know but New Hampshire does have a small coast, very small indeed on the southeast part of the state. Here is the city of Portsmouth with its rich sea-fearing history. But the grand daddy of them all in this state is Mt. Washington. The highest peak in the northeast with some of the worst weather in the world. Top wind speed of over 200 mph have been recorded here, and the buildings literally have chains holding them down. On a nice summer day, it is worth the drive up to the summit on the auto road but keep in mind that the weather can change at a moments notice. The views from the top on a clear day are unmatched!

Tip of the Day

Be Organized

It is a good idea to pack one room at a time, labeling each box with the room name (Kitchen, Bathroom, etc.) and a number (Kitchen - #1). As you complete packing each box go to your notebook, record the room name and the box number and list the contents of the box. If you take a little extra time to do this while you are packing each box, being as specific as you can, it will make unpacking at your new home that much easier. Also, if a box goes missing during the move you will be able to identify the missing items immediately by referring to your inventory list
