“Big Sky County” is the name many people refer to this great western state.  Snow capped mountains, mighty rivers, forest and pristine lakes are a beauty in themselves. Top that off with a visit to Glacier National Park and their wonderful glaciers. There you will see an abundance of wild life like bighorn sheep, black and grizzly bears, wolves and mountain lions. You will think that you are near the Arctic Circle.

Montana is a mountainous state but the eastern two-thirds is dusty high plains. Before ranchers came it was prime buffalo territory. Here Native Americans fought hard to fight for their lands and it is where they defeated the US Army at Little Bighorn. By Montana standards, the city  Billings is a large city. It is in a dramatic setting with mountains surrounding it, and with lively bars, restaurants, and many galleries. When in western Montana, be sure to check out Bozeman. It is rich in Victorian storefronts, galleries and many fine eating establishments. Even though Montana’s harsh climate restricts when to visit, it doesn’t slow down the mass of people who come here for world class skiing.

Tip of the Day

Be Organized

It is a good idea to pack one room at a time, labeling each box with the room name (Kitchen, Bathroom, etc.) and a number (Kitchen - #1). As you complete packing each box go to your notebook, record the room name and the box number and list the contents of the box. If you take a little extra time to do this while you are packing each box, being as specific as you can, it will make unpacking at your new home that much easier. Also, if a box goes missing during the move you will be able to identify the missing items immediately by referring to your inventory list
