When one speaks of Michigan, people think of car factories and the tough city of Detroit. But there is much beauty in the state from the shores of lake Michigan, to the Bear Sand Dunes in the Upper Peninsula to the wonderful spreads of wilderness throughout the state. Around Lake Michigan are many small ports and charming towns. Be sure to check out Silver Beach and its two lighthouses. A nice place to visit is the town of Holland, where people are proud of their heritage and visitors can tour the Holland Museum and a clog factory.

Isle Royale National Park , the 45-mile sliver is in two ways as far as you can get from Detroit-in miles and lifestyle. Located by Lake Superior, all cars are banned so one needs to hike in to enjoy its beauty. There one will find plenty of swampy lakes, hiking trails and grazing moose. Michigan offers many forms of enjoyment and well worth a visit during anytime of the year.

Be Organized
It is a good idea to pack one room at a time, labeling each box with the room name (Kitchen, Bathroom, etc.) and a number (Kitchen - #1). As you complete packing each box go to your notebook, record the room name and the box number and list the contents of the box. If you take a little extra time to do this while you are packing each box, being as specific as you can, it will make unpacking at your new home that much easier.
