Idaho is a great state for the outdoor enthusiast. It boast many attractions like Hells Canyon, America’s deepest river gorge, Sun Valley and Craters of the Moon. Not to mention the great skiing at Sun Valley. To date there is no east west road across the heart of the state with the central wilderness dividing the state in half. Idaho was the last of the States of the Lewis and Clark Expedition in 1850, declaring that the overwhelming maze of peaks and wild waterways was the most difficult part of their expedition.

For the skier, Sun Valley’s Bald Mountain is a favorite  at 9100 feet where most of the serious skiing happens. The ski season runs from November to April and rates are highest during the summer and winter months. Off season rates are much lower and it is a great time to visit the state if you are on a budget. The Old Boise Historic District in Boise is an elegant area with its stone bricked restaurants and many quaint shops.
