Other islands include Maui, the second largest, and many people come here to enjoy surfing, whale watching, snorkeling and other activities. On Oahu is the city of Honolulu with its many hotels, nightlife and restaurants. The surfing beaches on the north shore are world famous  but minimally equipped for tourist. But if you are looking for a quiet place free from the crowds, this is the place. Be sure to visit the Hawaii Volcanoes National park where one gets to see the awesome power of the lava flows , where even whole towns have been engulfed.
